which provides
health care to most Medicaid recipients.

Maryland Children’s
Health Program
MCHP uses federal and state funds to provide health
care coverage to low-income children
up to age 19 and pregnant women of any age.

Maryland Health Insurance Plan
MHIP is available to Maryland residents who: 1.
are insured or underinsured and cannot obtain
insurance coverage in the
individual market due to a health condition; or, 2. have federal
guaranteed-issue rights under HIPAA; or, 3. are eligible for the Federal

Tax Credit.
